* BARANGUELIS, (le) Géog. anc. & mod. grand étang d'Egypte, que les Latins nomment stagnum magnum, Tenesoe sinus, Sorbonis Palus, sur les frontieres de la Terre - sainte, vers la côte de la Méditerranée; on l'appelle le golfe de Tenese, le Grand - étang, ou Stagnone. Il avoit autrefois cent vingt mille pas; il est aujourd'hui beaucoup moindre, & l'on conjecture qu'il se remplira.
