LIPPA, (Géogr.) Lippa, ville de Hongrie, prise & reprise plusieurs fois par les Turcs sur les Impériaux; mais enfin les Turcs s'en étant rendus maîtres en 1691, l'abandonnerent en 1695, après en avoir démoli les fortifications. Elle est au bord de la riviere sur une montagne, à quatre lieues N. E. de Témeswar, trente N. E. de Belgrade. Long. 40. 35. lat. 45. 50. (D. J.)
