AFFAISSÉ, adj. terme d'Architecture. On dit qu'un bâtiment est affaissé, lorsqu'étant fondé sur un terrain de mauvaise consistance, son poids l'a fait baisser inégalement; ou qu'étant vieux, il menace ruine.

On dit aussi qu'un plancher est affaissé, lorsqu'il n'est plus de niveau; on en dit autant d'un pié droit, d'une jambe sous poutre, lorsque sa charge ou sa vétusté l'a mise hors d'aplomb, &c. Voyez Niveau. (P)
