TOMACO, le, (Géog. mod.) grande riviere de l'Amérique méridionale au Pérou, dans l'audience de Quito. Elle tire son nom d'un village d'indiens appellé Tomaco, & on dit qu'elle prend sa source dans les montagnes qui sont aux environs de la ville de Quito. (D. J.)
