PORPAX, (Géog. anc.) fleuve de Sicile, selon Elien, dans son histoire mêlée. Il le place dans le pays des AEgestani. Cluvier, Sicil. ant. l. II. dit qu'on ne connoît point aujourd'hui ce fleuve. Thomas Fazel, décad. 1. l. VII. c. iv. néanmoins veut que l'on entende par Porpax ces eaux chaudes qui se jettent avec le Termestre dans le Scamandre, & qu'on appella AEgestanoe ou Segestanoe aquoe; mais on ignore l'origine de cette dénomination.
