PORTUNUS ou PORTUMNUS, s. m. divinité romaine qui présidoit aux ports, comme son nom le signifie. C'étoit, selon les uns, Mélicertequ'on ho<cb-> noroit sous ce nom; & d'autres croyent que c'étoit Neptune: quoiqu'il en soit, le dieu Portumnus avoit un temple à Rome dans la quatorzieme région.
