BARBUE, s. f. rhombus loevis, (Hist. nat. Zoolog.) poisson de mer très - ressemblant au turbot, tant à l'intérieur qu'à l'extérieur, à l'exception des aiguillons. La barbue n'en a aucun ni en - dessus, ni en - dessous: elle est plus large & plus mince que le turbot. Rondelet la nomme turbot sans piquans. Voyez Turbot, Poisson. (I)
