PANDICULATION, s. f. (Médecine.) Pandiculation dans un sens général, c'est un violent mouvement des solides qui accompagne ordinairement l'action du bâillement, & qu'on appelle aussi autrement extension. Voyez Baillement.

Pandiculation, se dit aussi dans un sens plus particulier, de cette inquiétude, de cette extension & malaise, qui accompagne ordinairement le frisson d'une fievre intermittente. Voyez Fievre intermittente.

On suppose qu'il provient d'une dilatation convulsive des muscles, par laquelle la nature tâche de rejetter quelque chose qui la gêne.
