PAMIERS ou PAMIEZ, (Géog. mod.) en latin moderne Apamia; ville de France dans le haut Languedoc, au pays de Foix, avec un évêché suffragant de Toulouse, érigé en 1296. Cette ville a souvent été saccagée, & ne contient gueres aujourd'hui que trois mille ames. Elle est sur l'Auriegue, à 3 lieues N. de Foix, 15 S. de Toulouse, 165 S. O. de Paris.
