OPORICÉ, s. m. (Mat. méd. des anciens.) O/PW/RIKH\; c'est un remede fort vanté, que Pline, livre XXIV. ch. xiv. nous dit être composé de quelques fruits d'automne. Il y entroit cinq coings, autant de grenades, du sumach de Syrie & du safran. On faisoit bouillir le tout dans un conge de vin blanc jusqu'à consistance de miel. Ce remede étoit employé pour les dyssenteries & les débilités d'estomac. Le mot opoticé est dérivé du grec O)/PW/RH, qui veut dire automne, ou le fruit de cette saison.
