OPULENCE, s. f. OPULENT, adj. (Gram.) termes qui désignent la grande richesse, ou celui qui la possede. Nous ne dirons ici qu'un mot, bien capable d'inspirer du mépris pour l'opulence, & de consoler ceux qui vivent indigens; c'est qu'il est rare qu'elle n'augmente pas la méchanceté naturelle, & qu'elle fasse le bonheur.
