NUMANA, (Géog. anc.) ville du Picenum, bâtie par les Siciliens selon Pline, & située à douze milles d'Ancone selon la table de Peutinger. Il paroît par une ancienne inscription rapportée dans Gruter, que c'étoit une ville municipale. On l'appelle aujourd'hui Numana. (D. J.)
