MINIO, (Géogr.) petit fleuve d'Italie en Toscane. Il avoit son embouchure entre Gravisea & Centrum celoe. Niger le nomme Migno, & Léander l'appelle Mugnone. Virgile en fait mention dans ce vers de l'Enéide:
Qui Coerete domo, qui sunt Minionis in arvis.
Il ne faut pas confondre le Minio avec le Minius; ce dernier étoit un fleuve de l'Espagne tarragonoise, ou de la Lusitanie, dont Ptolomée & Pomponius Méla font mention. (D. J.)
