MACROULE, s. f. (Hist. nat. Ornit.) diable de mer, fulica major Bellonii. Oiseau qui est entierement noir: il ressemble parfaitement à la poule d'eau, dont il ne differe qu'en ce qu'il a la tache blanche de la tête plus large, & en ce qu'il est un peu plus gros.
