LINDISFARNE, Lindisfarna, lindisfarnensis insula, (Géog.) île d'Angleterre, sur la côte de Northunberland; elle perdit le nom de Lindisfarne, pour prendre d'abord celui de Haligeland, & ensuite celui de Holy - Island, qu'elle porte aujourd'hui, & qui signifie pareillement île sainte.
