HORÉES, s. f. pl. (Antiq. greq.) sacrifices solemnels, consistant en fruits de la terre que l'on offroit au commencement du printems, de l'été & de l'hiver, afin d'obtenir des dieux une année douce & tempérée. Ces sacrifices, selon Meursius, étoient offerts aux déesses appellées *W(\RA, les heures, qui, au nombre de trois, ouvroient les portes du ciel, gouvernoient les saisons, & avoient en conséquence des temples chez les Athéniens; voyez Heures, & voyez aussi Potter, Archoeol.
