GLOUTERON, PETIT GLOUTERON, s. m. xantheum, (Hist. nat. bot.) genre de plante à fleur composée de plusieurs fleurons stériles, dont il sort une étamine qui a un sommet ordinairement fourchu; les embryons naissent sur la même plante séparément des fleurs, & deviennent un fruit oblong, le plus souvent garni de piquans, partagé en deux loges, & rempli de semences oblongues.
