Patrick (Simon) naquit dans cette ville en 1626, & mourut évêque d'Ely en 1707. On a de lui un grand nombre d'ouvrages écrits en anglois, tous pleins d'érudition; tels sont en particulier ses commentaires sur le Pentateuque, & sur d'autres livres de l'Ecriture sainte. (D. J.)
