GABRIELITES, s. m. pl. (Hist. ecclés.) secte particuliere d'anabaptistes, qui s'éleva dans la Poméranie en 1530. Elle porte le nom de Gabriel Scherling son auteur, qui, conjointement avec Jacques Hutten, avoit apporté cette doctrine dans cette contrée, parce qu'ils n'étoient plus tolérés ailleurs: mais ce fanatique en fut encore chassé, & mourut en Pologne.
