Fourrure, (Marine.) c'est une enveloppe de vieille toile à voile, ou de fils & cordons des vieux cables, que l'on met en tresse ou petite natte, & dont on enveloppe toutes les manoeuvres de service pour les conserver. On en met aussi autour du cable, pour le conserver à l'endroit où il passe dans l'écubier, & lorsque l'ancre est mouillée. (Z)
