FORFEX, s. m. terme de Chirurgie, qui signifie une paire de ciseaux dont on se sert pour couper quelque chose. Voyez Ciseaux.

On se sert aussi quelquefois de ce mot pour signifier pince ou pincette: il est souvent confondu avec forceps. Blancard, & après lui Quincy, donnent ce nom à un instrument propre à arracher les dents. Voy. Forceps. (Y)
