EPAULER un Cheval, (Manége, Maréchall.) c'est occasionner dans l'une ou l'autre de ses épaules un mal qui le rend incapable de service. Ce mot pris néanmoins dans son véritable sens, ne doit être appliqué que dans le cas où ce mal est incurable, soit par sa propre nature, soit par ses progrès communément favorisés par ceux à qui le traitement en est dévolu. Ainsi un cheval épaulé est véritablement un cheval inutile, qui ne sera jamais d'aucun usage. (e)
