Mais le sacrifice d'un homme ayant révolté les Athéniens, ils substituerent à cette victime un porc châtré, qu'il appellerent néphrende, sine renibus. L'écatonphoneume passa de la Grece en Italie. Sicinius Dentatus offrit le premier dans Rome ce sacrifice, après être sorti vainqueur de cent vingt combats particuliers, avoir reçû plus de quarante blessures, avoir été couronné vingt - six fois, & avoir reçû cent quarante brasselets.
