DUNG, s. m. (Commerce.) petit poids de Perse, qui fait la sixieme partie du mescal. Il faut trois mille six cents dungs ou envir on pour faire le petit batman de Perse, qu'on appelle batman de tauris, & à peu près 7200 pour le grand batman, autrement batman de roi ou cati, à prendre le petit batman pour cinq livres quatorze onces, & le grand pour onze livres douze onces poids de marc.

Le dung a au - dessous de lui le grain d'orge, qui n'en vaut que la quatrieme partie; de sorte que le batman de tauris pese environ 14400 grains d'orge, & le batman de roi environ 28800. Voyez Batman. Voyez les dictionn. du Comm. de Trév. & de Chambers.
