ALLODIAL, adj. (Jurisprud.) épithete d'un héritage qui est tenu en franc - alleu. Voyez Alleu.

Une terre allodiale est une terre dont quelqu'un a la propriété absolue, & pour raison de laquelle le proprietaire n'a aucun Seigneur à reconoître, ni redevance à payer. Voyez Propriété.

En ce sens allodial est opposé à feudal ou féodal, ou bénéficiaire. Voyez Fief, Bénéfice, Alleu , &c. Les héritages allodiaux ne sont pas exempts de la dixme. (H)
