CONVOCATION, (Jurispr.) signifie invitation donnée à plusieurs personnes pour les rassembler.

On dit, par exemple, la convocation du ban & de l'arriere - ban. Voyez Ban & Arriere - ban.

Les billets de convocation sont l'avertissement par écrit que l'on envoye à ceux que l'on veut rassembler.

On dit aussi convoquer ou assembler le chapitre. Voyez Chapitre.

L'assemblée d'une communauté d'habitans doit être convoquée au son de la cloche. Voyez Assemblée, Communauté, Habitans.

On convoque les pairs au parlement dans les affaires qui intéressent l'honneur de la pairie ou l'etat d'un pair Voyez Pair. (A)
