CONTRE - TIRER, c'est tracer toutes les gnes ou contours des objets représentés dans un dessein, dans un tableau, sur une étoffe fine, sur du papier mince, ou autre matiere transparente qu'on applique sur le tableau ou dessein, & au travers de laquelle on apperçoit les objets. On contre - tire quelquefois avec le pentagraphe ou parallelograme. Ce mot n'est guere d'usage en Peinture: le calque dit tout. Voyez Calquer, & le dict. de Peint. (R)
