CLANCULAIRES ou OCCULTES, s. m. plur. (Théol.) secte particuliere d'Anabaptistes, qui prétendoient pouvoir sans crime déguiser leur religion quand ils étoient interrogés, & qu'il suffisoit de savoir en particulier à quoi s'en tenir. Voyez Anabaptistes. On les appelloit aussi Freres Jardiniers, parce qu'ils ne s'assembloient point dans des églises, mais dans des maisons particulieres ou des jardins. Chambers. (G)
