* ACTEON, n. p. (Myth.) un des chevaux qui conduisoient le char du Soleil dans la chûte de Phaeton. Actéon signifie lumineux. Les autres chevaux compagnons d'Actéon s'appellent Erythreus, Lampos, & Philogeus ou Aerson, Pyrois, Eous, & Phlégon, selon qu'on en voudra croire, ou le Poëte Ovide, ou Fulgence le Mythologue. Ovide appelle celui - ci AEthon.
