CELLIER, sub. m. (en Architecture.) c'est un lieu voûté dans l'étage soûterrain, composé de plusieurs caves, qui étant destinées à serrer le vin, se nomme cellier, du Latin cella vinaria.

On entend par cellier plus communément un lieu moitié sous terre & moitié hors terre, qui n'est point voûté, mais qui est formé par un plancher avec solives apparentes, & sert indistinctement à divers usages; en Latin cellarium. (P)
