CARDINALE RAPUNTIUM, (Hist. nat. bot.) genre de plante à fleur monopétale, anomale, tubulée ou sillonnée, découpée en plusieurs parties qui sont disposées comme les doigts de la main, & qui ont chacune la forme d'une langue. Cette fleur a une gaine qui contient le pistil. Le calice devient un fruit divisé en trois loges, qui renferment des semences petites pour l'ordinaire, & attachées à un placenta divisé en trois parties. Tournefort, Inst. rei herb. Voyez Plante.
