CARIQUEUSE, adj. f. terme de Chirurgie, est l'épithete qu'on donne à une tumeur, qui par sa figure ressemble à une figue. Il en vient quelquefois de cette espece parmi les hémorrhoïdes. Voyez Figue & Hémorrhoïde.

Ce mot vient du Latin carica, qui est le nom d'une espece de figue sauvage, ainsi nommée parce qu'elle croissoit en Carie.
