BRUNSFELSIA, s. f. (Hist. natur. bot.) genre de plante, dont le nom a été dérivé de celui d'Othon Brunsfels, medecin. La fleur des plantes de ce genre est monopétale, en forme d'entonnoir; tubulée & découpée. Il s'éleve du fond du calice un pistil qui est attaché au fond de la fleur commé un clou, & qui devient dans la suite un fruit arrondi, mou, charnu, & rempli de semences ovoïdes, qui se trouvent entre la peau & la chair du fruit.
