en l'honneur de Bacchus, & qui duroit trente jours.

Ce mot vient de bruma, qui veut dire hyver, parce
que cette fête tomboit au commencement de l'hyver:
d'autres dérivent le nom de brumales de brumus ou bromios, qui sont des noms qu'on donnoit à Bacchus, à
cause du bruit que faisoient les bacchantes, voyez
