Triangle, s. m. en Astronomie, c'est un nom commun à deux constellations, l'une dans l'hémisphere septentrional, appellé simplement triangle ou triangle céleste, & l'autre dans l'hémisphere méridional, que l'on appelle triangle austral. Voyez Constellation.

Les étoiles qui composent le triangle septentrional, sont au nombre de quatre, suivant le catalogue de Ptolomée, autant dans celui de Tycho; 24 dans le catalogue britannique.
