TONNÉES, s. f. pl. (Mytholog.) fêtes qui se célébroient à Argos, selon Athénée. Elles consistoient en ce qu'on rapportoit en grande pompe la statue de Junon, en mémoire de ce qu'on l'avoit recouvrée sur les Thyrréniens, qui après l'avoir enlevée, l'avoient abandonnée sur le rivage. La statue dans cette solemnité, étoit environnée & comme garrotée de liens bien tendus, qu'on nommoit en grec TONOS2 du verbe TEINW, tendre, d'où cette fête a pris sa dénomination.
