TAUROCINI; (Géog. anc.) peuples d'Italie, dans la grande Grece, au voisinage de la ville Rhegium, selon Probat le grammairien, in vita Virgilii, qui cite les origines de Caton. Ces peuples tiroient leur nom du fleuve Taurocinium, sur le bord duquel ils habitoient; ce fleuve s'appelle aujourd'hui Rezzo, selon Léander. (D. J.)
