SOBARMAH, ou SOBORMAH, (Géog. mod.) nom persan, d'une grande île de la mer de la Chine, autour de laquelle il y en a plusieurs autres qui sont inhabitées. La mer y est profonde & très - orageuse. C'est là peut - être l'île de Sumatra, du moins ce qu'en dit le shérif Al - édrissi s'y rapporte. (D. J.)
