Bomber, en terme de Bijoutier, c'est proprement emboutir ou creuser les fonds d'un bijou, tel qu'une tabatiere, plus ou moins. Pour cet effet l'on a une plaque de fer de la forme que l'on veut donner à son fond; dans cette plaque on met un mandrin de plomb, le fond dessus, & le frappe - plaque sur l'or, puis on frappe sur ce frappe - plaque avec une masse, jusqu'à ce que le fond soit bombé.
