BOEDROMIES, s. f. (Myth.) fêtes qu'on célébroit à Athenes, pendant lesquelles on couroit en jettant de grands cris, du Grec BOH\, cri, & DRO/MOS2, course. Elles se célébroient vers le mois d'Août, d'ou ce mois chez les Athéniens a été nommé Boedromion. Cette fête, selon Plutarque, fut instituée au sujet de la guerre contre les Amasones, ou, selon d'autres, en mémoire du secours qu'on donna aux Athéniens contre Eumolpe. (G)
