RECENSEMENT, s. m. (Jurisprud.) est la répétition & l'audition de témoins qui ont revélé devant un curé, en conséquence d'un monitoire publié par une ordonnance du juge laïc. Cette répétition & audition se fait devant lui, & non devant le juge d'église, parce que le monitoire ayant été publié de l'autorité du juge laïc, n'attribue aucune jurisdiction au juge d'église.
